A frequent question that we get asked is "Where is there whitewater in San
Diego?" Around here, it's just the ocean. There are no rivers in Southern

The nearest whitewater river with consistent flows is the Kern River, located
about 5 hours north of San Diego in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains. You can find photos
