Safety Class

Nineteen!

Lots of good discussions

Some folks are so renowned that you need only mention their first name.  We’re fortunate to have such a woman in our local paddling community.

When Jen Kleck generously offered SDKC two free sessions on kayak safety, 19 paddlers showed up at the Aqua Adventures shop for the 2 hour theory session. There were an equal number of seasoned paddlers and newer paddlers excited to learn everything they could about personal and group safety.
Jen imparting her wisdom The 2 hours flew by as the interactive group sorted out:

  • Identifying the risk
  • Plan to avoid the risk
  • Your plan if avoidance fails
  • Who to inform
  • Judging the acceptability of the risk – the probability and consequences of encountering the risk

Anyone that missed this opportunity might want to get in on the course when it’s offered again.

Thanks, Jen!
