SAN DIEGO COASTKEEPER – August 7th meeting – Kayakers invited!

TO LOCAL KAYAKERS: San Diego Coastkeeper is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the regions inland and coastal waters for the community and wildlife that depend on them.
As a part of our mission, we host a quarterly forum called Signs of the Tide which aims to inform the community about local issues happening now in San Diego. By inviting members of the community, scientists, representatives from the city, professionals, and local experts to share information and concerns regarding specific issues of San Diego’s waterways we hope to promote thriving inland and coastal waters.
Our next Signs of the Tide event is scheduled for August 7, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and our topic is “How to Be an Advocate for Your Community,” with a focus on how to be better advocates for the environment, and in turn, the community. The event will feature a panel of experts with expertise ranging from environmental advocacy to regulatory decision-making. We will provide some light food and refreshments.
